Shellie Jacobson

Shellie Jacobson is originally from Buffalo, New York. She attended Carnegie-Mellon
University (BFA) and Rutgers, the State University (Ed.D). She has been actively
involved in the field of ceramics both as a teacher and an exhibiting artist for
more than thirty years. Her ceramics have been exhibited often in New Jersey
as well as nationally and internationally. Recently, Jacobson has been involved
in creating unique artists books and was a visiting artist at Experimental Printmaking
Institute, Lafayette College in Easton Pa. The books created during her tenure
at the college were included in a traveling exhibition to several US cities and
Costa Rica and England. She is an active member of the Princeton Artists Alliance
and maintains her ceramic studio and RockBrookPress in Skillman.
Artist Statement:
My current work in clay further explores “Artifacts from the Marsh.” In this series,
I am focusing more on the interior life of trees rather than the exterior forms.
I also continue to work in a larger scale, solving technical challenges as they
are presented to me.
