Artist Statement:
My focus as an artist centers on the non visual and transient, the illusive and
passing moment.
The final imagery and composition develop naturally as the work progresses..innovation
and
exploration of processes and media create an adventure in which each work is unique
and requires
different solutions. A fascination with the elements of wind and water, an interest
in sailing, and an early preference for
watercolor remain visible in my work. Although I am not married to any procedure
or method of working,
the practice of meditation remains an integral part of my creative process. It
provides a segway to
"listening to the work" as opposed to 'listening to the self" The struggle is
to successfully utilize
the energy of the expressive with the quiet of attention.
